Ship-to-Shore container cranes
STS cranes are the interface between seabound and landbound transport. The cranes offer highest availability and the highest moves per hour ratio by low operational costs. The size of the cranes has to follow the size of the vessels. The first container vessels (about 35 years ago) carried 1.000 TEU in 10 rows. Cost pressure lead the development to larger ships to today 8000 TEU in more than 17 rows. This tendency is still not stopped. The recent container cranes are able to serve even ship generations to come. |
