John Holland clinches $276 million port deal in Western Australia
The new port will have 920-metre jetty and two-berth wharf John Holland Group announced it has won a $276 million deal for a new port in Western Australia. The company will construct a 920-metre jetty and two-berth wharf, new shiploading facilities and associated piping works at the Cape Lambert iron ore facility located near Port Walcott, approximately 40 kilometres east of Karratha in Western Australia. The project, which is a collaboration between John Holland's energy and resources and western region businesses, is anticipated to increase capacity at the port by 50 million tonnes per annum. John Holland's Group Managing Director, Glenn Palin, said the "announcement builds on our extensive experience delivering marine extension works in the resources sector." The project, which will commence immediately and will be completed by 2012, is part of the Rio Tinto's Cape Lambert Port B Project in Western Australia's north-west. |
